Do I have to pay for your services?
No, all the services provided by the consultants are free to all candidates.
How long will it take to get a job?
How long is a piece of string!? It is impossible to state specific timescales as so much depends on the marketplace, location, salary, company etc.
Are there any restrictions on where I can work if I am not a British Citizen?
Yes. Two year visitors visas are not usually accepted by companies looking to recruit permanent placements. The rules vary depending on your nationality and your desired location. Feel free to speak to one of our consultants for more specific advice.
How confidential are your services?
Completely. We will never disclose your details to anybody without your express permission first.
Will you call me at work?
Nowadays we are able to rely on text messaging and email
rather than phone calls. Only if it is absolutely necessary
and we have your approval to do so, will we call. We will
always be very discrete and will not leave messages with
names or numbers.
How much experience do I need? Do you handle graduate appointments?
We do not really handle graduate appointments, so generally six months to a year's HR experience is preferential. There is no upper limit!
How can I best research for interviews?
Your consultant will supply you before interviews with all the company information available to them, as well as job descriptions and location details. Company web sites, trade journals, business libraries, Reuters and broadsheets can also be very useful.
How should I lay out my CV?
Make it clear and concise, two pages is a good length.
Do not waffle, use good spacing, a clear font and point
size and check it for mistakes before submitting it! It
is your c.v. and should accurately reflect your achievements.
How can I be more proactive?
In addition to the work of your consultants, you should support their efforts by screening advertisements for suitable roles, applying directly to companies and using your industry contacts.
Can I move industry sector?
In a nutshell, yes, but obviously it will always be a little more difficult as the other candidates usually have gained industry experience already. Certain sectors are more difficult to break into than others. Please speak to one of our consultants for more advice.
If I send my details how soon will you contact me?
We ensure that all applications get a reply in writing by return of post after their receipt. Further communication will be done by telephone as soon as possible after this time.
